I am an educator and learning designer who is committed to sparking a love of learning in students of all ages and ability levels, in settings from the classroom to the boardroom. My diverse experience includes both lead teacher and support roles for various educational establishments (preschool through adult age groups), eight years as an alternative educator and special education advocate for school-aged children, a Spanish linguist in the U.S. military, a training and development/curriculum specialist both for a military sub-contractor and for a community center, and a volunteer instructor and lay counselor for several adult education groups within the military community.
The most important thing I can share about myself is this: I have developed a compassionate, eclectic approach to designing creative learning solutions in a variety of traditional educational settings, self-led learner environments, and through community education opportunities. My approach to teaching/training, designing, and evaluating focuses on fostering personal development and academic success for both students and their family support advocates as well as for adult learners and their parent organizations.
